Sam Ratulangi International Airport

Sam Ratulangi International Airport located in the Mapanget district about 30 minutes downtown from  Manado, North Sulawesi province, Indonesia. This airport completely refurbished in 2001. The area is lush and green decorate the area around Sam Ratulangi International Airport. The airport named in accordance with Dr. Gerungan Ratulangi Saul Samuel Yacob, a Indonesian national hero from North Sulawesi. Sam Ratulangi international airport serves flights both domestic and abroad.

Sam Ratulangi International Airport has run way lenght approximately 3,000 meters and equipped with adequate infrastructure and can be landed by large-bodied aeroplane like Boeing 747. The number of aeroplane that landed at Sam Ratulangi International Airport, an average of 6% per year with annual passenger numbers of 10.2%. Transport of goods by planes through this airport every year which is 70.40%. These conditions resulted in a growing number of airline operators, who arrived and departed, no less than 1,800 to 2,000 people in and out of both domestic flights and flights abroad.

Passenger terminal is equipped with a bank, automated teller machines, restaurants , cafeterias, bars, VIP Lounge, duty free shop, newsagent / tobacco, gift shops, travel agencies, car rental, taxi service / rank, first aid services, nursery / parents, 8074 m2 parking spaces, escalators, and elevators for the disabled. Garuda Indonesia using Bunaken Lounge for Executive class passengers or gold Garuda Frequent Flyer (GFF) Frequent and platinum card. A small upgrade has been done before the World Ocean Conference and the Coral Triangle Initiative Summit in May 2009. This was done in the apron area, the international dorm room, space and lots of car parking CIP. Aprons currently has an area 71,992 m2, while the available parking for 500 cars. The waiting room and a gateway for international departures and arrivals are being expanded along with the installation of additional aerobridge. With this upgrade, the terminal can serve up to 2 million passengers per year.
